Votre Ombre

Il n'y a rien mieux que d'être dans ma peau
sous les étoiles - livre Wuthering Heights (ou 1Q84)
attend pour vous, venir à la maison

pensant à vous
votre ombre tombant
sur ma peau

Bientôt, l'hiver va s'arrêter à ma fenêtre. Et notre foyer sera enflammé.

There is surely nothing better than being comfortable
under the stars, with Wuthering Heights (or 1Q84)
in my hands - thinking of you

And your shadow
Falling upon my tingling skin
chilled by winter night

Soon, winter will stop at my window. And our hearth will be enflamed.

  1. Read Wuthering Heights a couple of months back and slept with a heavy heart!! Great read!!

In the second haiku, you have elegantly expressed the romantic duo!!

    1. Wuthering Heights has been one of my favorites for more than 30 years, Nanka. It was my class reader.

    1. Thank you Sir Hank. Young at heart, and a hopeless romantic. That's me.

  8. Thanks Loredana. Yes, I am still on a blogging break but trying to keep up with snippets of French poetry. I am enjoying the chance and novelty of just visiting favorite poets for the fun of it.

It is a busy time - work, writing and giving talks on Malay legends and folklores. But I need to invest this time.
